Whitchurch is a village of around 240 households straddling the A40 trunk road, approximately 6 miles south west of Ross on Wye and 4 miles north east of Monmouth. Travelling south adjoining the village and bordering the River Wye are the dispersed settlements of Symonds Yat West and Great Doward. In addition to these settlements, Whitchurch Parish also contains the settlements of Crocker’s Ash and Lewstone.
